4.5 stars, based on 1 expert review

The Freedom Estate offers six swish serviced apartments perched over a lush hillside with abundant tropical palms and flower bushes.

More functional than stylish, each room is airy, clean and equipped to the supreme with soft king-size bed, air-con, two ceiling fans, satellite TV, safe, modern hot-water bathroom and full kitchen with fridge, sink, range, dishes, toaster oven, coffee maker, hot water kettle and even a rice cooker and fruit blender. Massive private terraces front each room and afford commanding sunset views over Ko Haa and Ko Phi Phi. The setting is very peaceful, with birdsong and butterflies rather than loud music. Freedom Estate's only potential disadvantage is the 10-minute walk to the beach that takes you across the main road, though we feel that the scenery and quietude makes up for this. Friendly Swiss owner Rolf offers free pick up and drop off from the ferry pier.
