We were warmly welcomed to Sea Culture by a shirtless, long-haired dude who was hanging out at the bar with a guitar.

When we asked about rooms, he shouted to a couple of other long-haired, shirtless dudes who promptly showed us around. Set just off the sand, the simple cold-water fan bungalows have thatched roofs, bamboo exteriors and wood floors to go with firm beds, attached cold-water bathrooms and loungeable front porches with sea views. The huts are a little more luxurious than those at nearby Andaman Bay, mainly thanks to the addition of a table. This is a very funky spot that seems to attract a mix of hippies and parents who are still hippies at heart. The staff were quick to point out that the WiFi actually works, which you wouldn't expect when first seeing the endearingly dilapidated beach bar that can get lively after dark.
