Luboa has a mix of wood and bamboo bungalows set far apart from one another on a hillside with several banyan trees.

One of the bungalows is literally placed smack on a banyan’s distinctively snaking roots. They were all full during our visit (a testament to the place’s quality and friendless), but we were told that they come with mosquito nets, fans and simple cold-water bathrooms, with some of them featuring multiple beds or sofas. What we could see first hand were the hammocks strung to the generous-sized porches, and a bunch of very happy-looking customers in the seaside restaurant area. The staff and owners are extremely friendly, and they go above and beyond some of the other bungalow joints by offering free WiFi and an espresso bar. Advanced reservations are a good idea. Should you fail on that account, neighbouring Bonhomie Bungalows has similarly simple dark-wood bungalows on the same forested hillside.
