Banyan Bay Villa Koh Pu

Our rating:
3.5 stars, based on 1 expert review

Spread over a steep hillside with paths winding past the banyan trees en route to the beach, this is Ko Jum's most isolated resort.

With high vaulted ceilings, amber stain-glass windows, soft beds with high-quality linens, massive porches and hot-water bathrooms with rainfall showers, the fan-cooled villas are stunning. In fact, they're very similar to those found down at Koh Jum Lodge on Golden Pearl Beach. Banyan Bay is also one of the island's few resorts to offer air-con, though this comes in slightly less inspiring concrete villas closer to the beach. All rooms are very tastefully done, and while the classical music that sometimes plays in the restaurant terrace lends a feel of sophistication, the staff are laid back and enjoy joking around with their guests. Banyan Bay offers pick-up from the piers or speedboat drop-off points, as well as WiFi and rental motorbikes. This is only worth considering if you seek serious isolation.
