Not to be confused with the River View Hotel downtown, the long-running River Hotel is accessible by the riverside promenade after a five-minute walk south from Chao Fah pier.
Standard rooms are small but bright, clean and comfy enough for the price, with TVs, mini-fridges, air-con, desks and ensuite bathrooms. The "seaview" rooms bag you considerably more space and balconies where you can sit and watch the boats drift past. Though the neighbouring Rooms At Krabi Guesthouse has more character, River Hotel’s rates haven’t gone up in years and it’s arguably the better-value choice, especially when judging each property’s river-view editions. River Hotel also has a riverside lawn and a handful of communal computers to go with free WiFi. We’ve found different staff members to be either friendly or impersonal but certainly not lazy -- cleanliness is very well looked after here. Next door, the Krabi Seaview Hotel has slightly cheaper rooms that face a car park along with river-view rooms with similar rates and amenities.
