Cheapie with a river view
Boasting a quiet yet central and scenic location right across from where the riverfront night market sets up, Krabi Nature View Guesthouse is an old-school spot which remains a solid option for backpackers who want a private room for the same price as a bunk in most of Krabi’s hostels.
A family-run guesthouse with a cafe, free WiFi and reliable tour/transport bookings, over the years we’ve watched the children transform from cute little monsters into polite and helpful young adults who have taken over some of the operational duties from their folks.
Most of the eight or so rooms are upstairs on either side of a hallway, with three hot-water bathrooms shared among them. Inside they’re cramped but well kept, with smooth hardwood floors and the choice of air-con or fan mounted on the ceiling directly above soft beds, which had replaced the old spring beds since our last visit. Windows in most rooms face walls of neighbouring buildings, but the room in front affords a river view.
There’s also a shared river-view terrace that’s a good spot to kick back and chat. If you like the low prices and intimate setup but would prefer a private bathroom, check out Smile Guesthouse and Mr Clean Guesthouse. If you want a party vibe with your cheap room, head to Good Dream.
