More like “just great”
Just Fine Krabi is our favourite out of the half-dozen flashpacker-range spots clustered into City Plaza, a block of newish buildings in a central position between the riverfront, Talad City and Maharaj Soi 10 in Krabi town.
Accessed by stairs on the upper three floors, the spacious rooms sport murals of the Ko Lanta lighthouse or mud crabs frolicking in mangroves, above firm yet comfortable beds, plus extras like desk, TV, WiFi, coffee/tea facilities, fridge, extra-large safe, daybed set beside wide windows and tables on small balconies. The only slight drawbacks are the hot-water bathrooms, which are small and have smudges on painted concrete walls.
Just Fine sits back in the corner facing a car park, so you don’t get the river views afforded by the smaller rooms at neighbouring hotels like Apo and River Scene. We think the higher room quality and slightly cheaper rates make up for that. Staffers have always been cheerful and helpful to us, serving breakfast and renting out mountain bikes out of a ground-floor lounge with plentiful tables, fishponds and art inspired by the Andaman Sea. There’s also an electric piano should you feel like busting into Tiny Dancer. In addition to the spots mentioned above, similar downtown options include Krabi Orchid Hometel and P.N. Boutique House.
