More style than most
Opened in 2015, Le Petit Saint Tropez is a small French-run resort and restaurant with a cool style, intimate atmosphere and helpful owners.
Set directly beside an excellent stretch of Haad Nadan, it’s a great choice for couples who could use some relaxation.
Sporting a tasteful blue-and-white theme that reminded us of Santorini, the three concrete villas are situated just off the sand and with partial sea views through sliding glass doors. Though not huge, these are decked out with soft beds on polished concrete floors, quality linens, safes, mini-fridges, shiny appliances in the bathrooms and some blue fairy lights for ambiance. Rates might seem a little high considering that the resort lacks a swimming pool, but you do get a complimentary breakfast cooked up by the French chefs.
Fronting the resort is a beachfront cafe and lounge where you can browse the enticing options on the French menu, sip an excellent espresso or simply chill out on a day bed. You’ll also find thoughtful extras like windsurfing and badminton equipment, and some board games for rainy days. The place has a sophisticated vibe, WiFi is free and the owners can speak English well.
