This quaint little wooden hotel is built out over the Bang Nara River and is easily the best budget bet in Narathiwat -- some travellers refer to it as the best hotel in the entirety of Thailand.

Photo of Narathiwat Hotel
We’re certainly a fan, with the pleasant common area decorated with handy maps and traveller’s tips while simultaneously taking in a fresh sea-breeze. There’s also a small veranda ideal for a refreshing drink while watching the fishing fleet head out to sea. Downstairs is a short-time place, but do not let that worry you as the locals know the difference between a Western backpacker and a Thai prostitute and the girls themselves certainly won’t bother you. There is also a small cafe on the ground floor, free WiFi and free drinking water. Recommended.
