Banana Bungalows

Our rating:

Situated down a quiet lane that’s still close to the action of central Nang Thong and a five minute walk to the beach, Banana is a cheerful and friendly spot run by an enthusiastic group of young Thais.

Bright, clean and comfy white bungalows are set close to one another around a small swimming pool. Offering solid value, all rooms come with TVs, desks, simple hot water bathrooms, good sized front porches with chairs, and extras you wouldn’t expect at these prices like lock box and fridge. Although simply decorated, there’s a definite artist’s touch found here — one room we saw featured a small painting of a single red high heeled shoe above the bed, and another a unique stained glass window. Air-con rooms are identical to those with fans, and the shady grounds are concrete design keep the fan rooms relatively cool. It’s a bit of a walk to the beach, but close to tons of restaurants on the main road, and the staff are sure to bring a smile to your face. Plus, free WiFi.
