Tranquility on the sands
You’ll want to rise early to catch the sunrise from the porch of these well-priced wooden bungalows set on the beachfront of Tha Khao’s south end.
Run by a friendly local family, each bungalow has mosquito-netted double beds, hot water showers in a private tiled bathroom and a fridge, and for 100 baht more you can snag a room with two double beds. A handful of new, larger bungalows built at the back just opened in early 2014, which have screens on their sliding doors as a bonus for the lack of sea views. With a double plus single bed in the room, these would be ideal for families. All the bungalows have fans, while one concrete bungalow has air-con. All up it’s a chilled and cheerful place, and there’s a restaurant attached. Recommended for couples or families on a budget wanting to be right on the beach.
