Fab views, friendly people
Set on the jungly hillside overlooking Tha Khao beach, this laidback, family-run place offers awesome views of Phang Nga Bay from each of its solidly built wooden bungalows.
Each fan or air-con room has a double bed with mosquito netting, good-sized balcony and a private tiled bathroom with hot water. Some rooms have an extra bed or mattress. Try to book one of the newer bungalows higher up on the hill, which are larger and offer better value. The family owners shelled out a bit more to supply the rooms with better quality bed linens and fixtures like the ceiling fans than you might expect at this price level. Prices include WiFi but no breakfast. The attached restaurant set on a large wooden terrace has a good-sized menu of Thai food and attracts many outside guests for its great views, friendly service and tropical garden setting. Take care if you’re on a motorbike – the road leading up here is paved but rough in parts and very steep.
