Backpacker heaven

More on Ko Yao Noi

One of the cheapest choices on Ko Yao Noi, Nam Tok is found in a beautiful spot down a casuarina-lined lane just a few minutes’ walk from the beach.

Travelfish says:

Its cheaper, older fan bungalows are set around a small pond, while deluxe bungalows with fans or air-con are further back. Go for a deluxe wooden bungalow if you can afford it since the cheaper bamboo huts, though cosy, are looking dated and don’t have hot water showers. Gaps in the bamboo flooring make it easy for creepy crawlies to invade, though the beds have mosquito netting for protection. Wi-Fi is included in the rate. Nam Tok’s big selling point is its owner Khun Denny, who’s just about the most chilled and welcoming person you’ll ever meet and known to be helpful in organising outdoor activities and recommending out-of-the way spots to visit and dine. The open dining and reception area has the feel of a summer camp, with self-serve coffee and free use of the kitchen for guests. Of all the places to stay on Yao Noi, Nam Tok has the best backpacker-escape ambience. Recommended for solo travellers in particular.
