Something for everyone
Backpackers and vacationing families are likely to find something to suit their budget and taste at Deng’s.
Choose between the newer resort on the off-beach side of the road, and the older guesthouse that is closer to the beach. The beachside guesthouse has six rooms in two sizes that have all been upgraded with air-con, fridges and cable TV – sorry budgeteers, the cheap fan option is no longer available. If you prefer your beach holiday with a few more creature comforts, the 10 rooms at the resort across the street have free WiFi, private balconies, some with sea views, and a tiny pool. The family rooms have four beds. There’s a beach restaurant (closed in low season) in front of the guesthouse that puts on barbecue buffet nights every Wednesday, plus a convenience store and tour desk in the lobby of the resort. Deng’s is run by a Swedish/Thai family. Booking ahead is essential -- we could only sneak a quick peek into the rooms as they were fully booked on our visits. Recommended.
