Great monthly value homestay
A friendly family-run spot, Chez Sabina is more of a homestay than a hotel.
You can rent a room by the night, but most of their business is longer term. This is a popular choice with people who come to Phuket for a month or more — often every year — so a reservation is a smart idea. They have a variety of one-bedroom apartment-style rooms and a separate two-storey house with three bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. They aren’t the most modern of rooms but are fully furnished down to the smallest details like bottle openers and umbrellas, and come with free WiFi. The interiors have mismatched furniture and colour schemes but have character. Someone’s unleashed their inner artist here as the exterior and most interior walls are now adorned with large, groovy murals. A large spiral staircase connects the rooms in the tall house — so beware with children. If you’re paying by the night, the rate includes breakfast, and we were quickly offered a discount on the listed rates. Be sure to call ahead as Chez Sabina sometimes closes during low season. It’s found in a charmless, concreted-over part of town but a short walk to the beach.
