Mediocre beach rooms with a great price
Concrete shophouses aren’t generally the most inspiring places to stay, but Time Out has a few features that boost its appeal.
What is good here is that the rooms are a very good size -- they should have no problem fitting in an extra bed -- and the location, above a shop with a Subway outlet and gourmet ice cream parlour, facing straight onto Patong Beach, simply couldn’t be better. The air-con rooms are kept clean and in reasonable condition but the design is rather ho-hum. Each is equipped with a mini-fridge, TV, kettle and hot water shower, and WiFi is included. Standard rooms have a choice of king or twin beds. The deluxe rooms, with either a king or three single beds, are much larger with beach views, but either option makes for a reasonable beachside option if you don’t want to shell out top dollar. Walk-in rates we were offered in a low season month (June) were much better than anything we found in online booking sites; the hotel’s own website appears to have died. Do try the ice cream on the ground floor -- it’s good!
