Decent functional value
Siripong is just to the south of the road to the station and is easily the best value backpacker crashpad in Ban Krut.
It isn’t clearly signposted, but as you walk south you’ll reach a convenience store (see below) on your left and the building on your right is the guesthouse. As long as you don’t mind being in a hotel-style building, the simple rooms here are great value. Rooms are clean with very simple bathrooms (bucket flush, cold water only) -- note that some of the bathrooms are very small and lack a basin. Beds are firm and come with just basic bedding. There is an open rooftop area that they’ve sadly done nothing with, but you can drag a chair out here for a sunset beer. The friendly, English-speaking woman who runs Siripong also has the convenience store across the road, and it stocks just about anything you could imagine -- she’s probably got a Stinger missile in there somewhere. She also rents very good quality motorbikes for 200 baht per day. If you are on a budget, head straight here -- there’s good beach frontage out front just a few steps away. Recommended.
