One of the best for backpackers
Tucked down an alley off the western end of Dechanuchit, Les Bobo’s is a charming little spot where backpackers can mingle and rest their heads on the cheap.
We were told that a small dorm room may be coming in the future, but at time of writing, all rooms are small, basic and fan-cooled for individuals or pairs of travellers who appreciate a little privacy. Firm beds are set on hardwood floors, surrounded by green, pink or blue walls with imaginative paintings that reminded us of Dr Seuss. All rooms have a few screened windows. Small but well-kept hot-water bathrooms are shared and located on both floors. A shared balcony on the second floor is a great spot to sit back and relax. More furniture and a few rental bicycles are found in the ground-floor living room and reception area. Owner Nu was one of the most welcoming people we met in Hua HIn. The location is quiet, but the dizzying night market is just around the corner. A 15-minute walk from the beach, Les Bobo’s is no more than five minutes from both the train station and the Bangkok bus stop. Recommended for those who don’t need all of the bells and whistles.
