A pleasant surprise
This small budget hotel feels like a relaxing Thai-themed retreat despite being right off the main drag towards the south of town.
Two floors of rooms with pointed gabled roofs are situated around a small but relaxing courtyard with lots of tropical plants, fountains and a statue of Ganesha. Rooms are simple but clean, comfy and reasonably priced for what you get. Each comes with air-con, TV, fridge, safe, desk and modern bathroom to go with firm bed and soft lamps spread over tan tile floors. While all rooms get a fair amount of natural light, the larger editions bag you almost-wall-size swing-open windows and are well worth the extra couple of hundred baht. A handful of tables are spread over the shared verandas, and the hotel has an intimate, quiet vibe despite being so close to the main road. There’s also a gourmet grocery store, wine shop and espresso bar at the hotel’s doorstep. The beach, night market and nightlife are all within a 10- to 15-minute-walk from the hotel. The place is popular with holidaying Thais so booking ahead is recommended on weekends.
