As good as ever
Old and weathered, the Yuttichai is a stone’s throw from the train station and very close to the night market in the centre of town.
It offers great value, very basic rooms and friendly service, and remains one of the best spots in Prachuap for those travelling on a tight budget. There are two room choices: smaller wooden fan rooms upstairs above the reception entrance with shared bathrooms and, to the rear, better and more spacious concrete rooms with private bathrooms. A couple of air-con rooms are also downstairs behind reception. Staff are happy to do all they can to help. Bicycles are available at 60 baht per day, and motorbikes at 200 baht per day, as are internet and printing facilities -- though, at 20 baht per page, the latter is extortionate. Limited WiFi signal is available but not included in the room rates. There’s a ground floor coffee shop that does a decent cup. Recommended.
