Photo of Banana Resort Access from the beach is via a small bridge and the bungalows are set quite far back from the sand in what can't really be described as a garden: it's more cashew nut trees and bare earth (or mud depending on the weather) so the views from the bungalow balconies aren't all that great. This said, the bungalows are spacious, have pleasant wooden floors, good beds and linen, some shelving to store belongings, a place to hang clothes and decent open-air cold water bathrooms. Four smaller and more basic bamboo bungalows are clean and nearer the beach, so they have more of a sea view. The latter contain beds and mosquito nets and have attached bathrooms. The balcony platforms are on the small and flimsy side, but a hammock could probably be attached to the fairly sturdy looking supports without causing the hut to collapse. The restaurant/reception area at this place is a bit small and cramped but a larger chill out area overlooking the beach with low tables and Thai-style cushions makes a very pleasant spot to enjoy a laidback sundowner and a meal. Electricity is on from 18:00-23:00 and usually from around 09:00-12:00 too. No WiFi and the telephone signal can be iffy early in the morning, especially DTAC.
