Ten Moons Beach Resort

Ten Moons Beach Resort

Elegant seclusion

More on Ko Lipe

Ten Moons offers plush wooden villas spread over a hill beyond a secluded beach with some of the finest sand found this side of the Maldives -- and it’s a terrific option if neighbouring Serendipity is out of your price range.

Travelfish says:

Divided into three categories based on proximity to the beach, all rooms are made entirely of wood apart from the high thatch roofs and glass doors. Inside you get a cushy bed, partially open-air bathroom with hot water and rain shower, and amenities such as LCD TV and minibar. We also dug the art in earthy colours and spacious terraces with tables and protective railings, but no hammocks.

All rooms also bag you a sea view and we favoured the broad vistas from the cheapest “luxury grandview” editions set high up the hill. If steps are a problem you can go for an identical room closer to the beach and reception.

The beach that hosts Ten Moons is found just beyond a pile of boulders near the far southern end of Sunrise Beach -- you can walk here beside the surf at low tide while at high tide it’s an easy hop along a walkway in front of the lackluster Kathalee Resort. A few of Ten Moons’ bungalows also overlook the similar stretch of sand set beyond another outcrop of rocks in front of Serendipity.

Ten Moons also has a relaxing restaurant serving sushi and “Oriental-Mediterranean fusion” above the sand. The staffers we encountered were notably helpful and didn’t hesitate to show us a room as walk-ins.

Neighbouring Serendipity is exceptional if you want to go another step up the luxury ladder, while nearby Mali Sunrise (sister of Mali Resort on Pattaya Beach) is also a fine choice.
