Since its more humble beginnings, Baan Rimnan has been given an upgrade and now offers a mix of fan and air-con bungalows in a pretty green valley setting near the river.

The rooms themselves are solid for the prices, and are quite a bit larger than what we found elsewhere for the same rates. Bungalows are made of a mix of stone and wood and are raised above the ground. Most are standalone bungalows while the air-con rooms are in duplex bungalows with large windows on three sides and river views. The pricier fan bungalows are also set on the riverside but we liked the cheaper ones at the back better for their unfettered views of the mountains. Each room includes a double bed, large windows and private tiled bathrooms with hot water showers. Most have large porches with intricately carved wooden balcony railings. Once we were able to locate and wake up the staff we found them to be quite friendly. The resort runs a restaurant, where you'll get a WiFi signal, and mini-mart along the road.
