Great variety of original rooms
Phangan Cove sits towards the southern end of Sri Thanu, just before the river mouth, and offers a large variety of well-priced and originally-styled rooms to choose from, clustered around a tree-lined pathway weaving through the grounds between the beachfront restaurant and the entrance at the rear.
Rooms are generally good-sized, with grey wash wall exteriors and well-maintained balconies lending a definite modern feel to the place, accentuated by random pieces of funky furniture around the place. You can choose from fan-cooled or air-con rooms and they all have hot water, large modern bathrooms and balconies with a hammock. Inside, they have a modern feel, with white walls, clean white bedding, simple yet elegant furnishings of white couches, paintings, large lamps and shelving, free WiFi and with splashes of colour in cushions and decorations adding to the allure. Some rooms are ground level, others raised well off the ground, with a chill-out area below.
The beachfront restaurant has a small indoor area and a large outdoor area spilling on the beach where there is further cushion seating in romantic styled pagodas with white lace curtains, a cut out tree for a table and red cushions. Out front you can lounge on their red and white deck chairs and swim in the calm shallow water – the sand is soft and clean here.
To find Phangan Cove when coming from the south, pass the turn off road to Orion and Loyfa and if coming by bike turn left on the bend in the road on to a dirt path toward the rickety timber bridge. If you are a confident rider, cross the bridge and turn right on the very small dirt path and over tree roots and it will lead you straight in, otherwise leave your bike at the bridge. On foot, pass the turn off at the bend and walk a little further before just turning in left to the back of Phangan Cove.
