More on Ko Pha Ngan

A bit of a backpacker factory, Coral Bungalow claims to be famous for a regular pool party they have, but going on the size of the pool and the photos of the number of people in it, we strongly suggest not drinking the water if you take a dip.

Travelfish says:

Located beachside on Haad Rin Nai, Coral offers densely packed upstairs downstairs style air-con and fan-cooled rooms, some of which have some ocean views, all wrapped up in a party atmosphere. Lets just say if you’re looking for a sleepy beachside getaway, this shouldn’t be at the top of your list.

The crowd is young and gregarious, so if you’re a solo traveller looking to meet up with others, this might be a good option, and, well, if you like pool parties, you obviously have to stay here! Rates outside of Full Moon are extremely reasonable for the standard – and the full moon rates for fan rooms are not too bad either – be quick!

Rooms are air-con downstairs and fan-cooled upstairs. Well worn and heavily trafficked, we were surprised just how friendly the staff are as they must see – and put up with – a lot. Overall, given the beachside location and the swimming pool, if you’re looking for a party place, this is a good choice. If you’re looking for something quieter, but still good value (but without a pool) take a look at Sun Beach, Star light or Bird further along the beach.
