If you’re a travelling family looking for a great place to stay on a secluded beach, you need look no further than Ocean View Bungalows.
The larger family-orientated rooms here are unlike anything we have seen elsewhere on Ko Pha Ngan, with plenty of space, large sweeping decks and very clean and well maintained interiors. The standout (to us) was a split level beach villa that offered a stylish beach-chic outlook. It is actually two separate rooms, each of which has two bedrooms which would make it ideal for travelling families who wanted to keep the kids nearby but not too close.
Rooms are clean, with mosquito-net shrouded beds and glass frontage to take in the view (one is reflective, the other not). As with everywhere on Haad Khom, bungalows only have electricity in the evening and are fan-cooled.
There is a spacious comfy beach restaurant on the sand at the western end of the beach (close to Coral Bay) which has a whitewashed, airy beach feel and was well positioned to escape the midday heat and enjoys a great vantage point down the beach.
We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Despite not having a website, they can be booked online or direct via email. Coral Bay straddles the headland right next door but their bungalows are in very poor shape and this is a better option in every way.
Ocean View is closed in low season and has a three night minimum stay policy when they are open.
