Good budget bungalows
Thong Nai Pan Noi isn’t any great shakes when it comes to budget bungalows, but if you don’t mind being off the beach, the very friendly Sandee Bungalow fits the bill.
As you walk into Thong Nai Pan village you’ll reach a point where the road splits, continuing straight to the beach and Buri Rasa and turning left to Anantara – Sandee is on this junction, just look for the reception in a two storey building on your left as you walk towards Anantara – you may need to look around to find somebody.
The peachy coloured, green roofed bungalows are in a small garden area and are, for Thong Nai Pan Noi, good value. There is nothing to really distinguish these from other bungalows, they’re typical fare – but they are very clean, fan-cooled, with slatted glass windows and hammocks strung out front and cold water bathrooms to the rear.
We thought they were in better shape than at Phuwadee further down the beach, but there is no pool here and you are off the beach. Sandee is very conveniently located for the bars and restaurants on Thong Nai Pan Noi and the lady who runs it is friendly and can assist with travel arrangements and so on. If you’re on a budget yet determined to stay on Thong Nai Pan Noi, this is your best option.
