Hung Vuong flies under the radar but it should get some attention.

Everything still sparkles at this new skinny local hotel. It’s located in a less busy neighbourhood, yet it is only 400 metres from the central victory monument roundabout and an easy walk to the market. It’s modern, shiny and clean, and the small rooms are decked out with air-con, WiFi, a fridge, flatscreen TV and a tiled wet room-style hot water bathroom. For your convenience, there’s also bedside plugs. It’s worth choosing a room at the front with a window. There’s no English spoken and they don’t have the helpful tourist facilities and motorbike rental like Ngoc Mai Hotel, but the new rooms and the price should fit the bill with flashpackers.
