Located further down the same lane as An Bang Sunset Village Homestay, An Bang Garden Homestay is an ultra-modern house and the four rooms could be described as both contemporary cool and no frills.
Somehow the stark white walls, polished concrete floors and dark wood furniture works without feeling under furnished or clinical. Perhaps it’s the sliding glass doors, providing a view to the neatly manicured lawn and tropical greenery that makes it work. In any case, travellers can look forward to rooms with chilly air-con, WiFi, sitting area, bedside table and plug, flatscreen TV and private porch. The bathroom is also heavy on polished dark grey concrete, including a purpose built concrete sink and countertop.
Overall, the details are not as tidy as they could be -- the unsightly plug for the fridge is above it high on the wall, the few pieces of framed art are awkwardly placed. It’s also a slightly longer walk to the beach than An Bang Sunset Village Homestay (to find An Bang Garden Homestay, pass An Bang Sunset, continue south, then turn left down the paved lane). It’s still a solid choice and not a bad place to use as your base for surf and sand.
