Friendly and central
If you’d prefer to stay in the centre of things, at the more affordable end of the stick, the long–running Hotel Trung Nguyen is uber centrally located, spitting distance to Chau Doc’s central market and loads of eateries. We found the staff here to be particularly helpful and chatty and other reports note tham as being very helpful for arranging tours and so on.
While the rooms are nothing special (think bland, white and functional), the room we were shown was very clean and well kept, with a decent bathroom and a small veranda. Certainly smaller than the Murray, but also a bit more affordable. The ground floor has a cafe area, as bright and clean as the rooms above. Shop online for a discounted rate.
