Victoria Chau Doc Hotel

Victoria Chau Doc Hotel

Smartest (and priciest) digs in town

More on Chau Doc

Set close to the speedboat pier, the Victoria delivers what are easily the best—and most expensive—rooms in downtown Chau Doc.

Travelfish says:

That said, unless you’re really hankering after a swimming pool or just need those smooth polished wooden floors under foot, it seems a bit of a hard–to–justify extravagance. Yes the rooms are over–sized and enjoy great views over the river (if you are set on staying here, definitely request an upper floor room on booking), but, we much preferred the homely ambience (and far lower rates) at Murray.

Popular with tour groups, the hotel has a great cafe and bar area (do swing by for a sundowner of the evening, even if the sun doesn’t sink out front) which overlooks the medium–sized swimming pool. Staff are professional and courteous and very competitive rates ca be found online in low season—when we asked the staffer showing us around if the hotel was busy (in August 2018), she laughed.

So, if you would prefer fancy resort–style digs overlooking the river regardless of cost, then this is certainly the best in town. They have a second property on Sam Mountain, for those looking for something more hidden away, though we did not take a look at it.
