Dong Xuan Hong Guesthouse

Dong Xuan Hong Guesthouse

Excellent flashpacker pick

More on Phu Quoc Island

Located right on the main road Tran Hung Dao -- which unfortunately was undergoing a major, messy road widening when we visited in December 2015 -- Dong Xuan Hong is an excellent pick for flashpackers.

Travelfish says:

To get to the beach, simply walk across the road through Moon Resort and you’ll be deposited in the happening section of Long Beach. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance.

This place may even stretch a flashpacker’s wallet and it is a bit pricey for a guesthouse but decent budget digs are hard to come by on Phu Quoc. With Dong Xuan Hong you get a clean room with windows, tile floor, solid wood furniture, WiFi, air-con, mini fridge, vanity and a bed with respectable linens, bedside electrical outlet and table. The wet-room style bathroom has hot water and looks well-maintained. The reception speaks some English and Dong Xuan Hong makes it easy for backpackers to throw down their pack and not worry about comfort, though early morning noise may be a bother until road construction is completed.
