The comfortable and slightly flash-looking Song Tien Hotel is a couple of blocks back from the main river and instead overlooks the Bao Dinh river.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing as this smaller river enjoys quite a bit of boat traffic and is good for photos -- or just relaxing watching the boats slide by. Rooms are of a reasonable standard and are all decked out with air-con, hot water, and TV. There is also an elevated open-air cafe area that serves drinks and snacks which offers reasonable views over the surrounds. Downstairs is C'est Bon, a cafe that serves blended coffee drinks and smoothies. Behind the hotel is a restaurant where you will be served breakfast. It's also open for lunch and dinner. The Song Tien is a popular choice with mid-range tour groups and can fill up quickly. Go for a higher room to escape some of the traffic noise from the busy road down a block, though bear in mind not all the rooms have windows (in which case you won't have to worry about traffic noise!). Room rates include breakfast, but if you skip that expect a discount off the room -- it is apparently very skipable. The Song Tien is a popular choice with mid-range tour groups and can fill up quickly. If that's the case, you will be directed to it's sister hotel down the block at 33-35 Trung Truc. The rooms are cheaper at the sister location but also smaller.
