The Rang Dong is a little bit of a walk away from the rest of the offerings in My Tho and attracts a mixed crowd of Vietnamese and foreign backpackers.

Staff are friendly and accommodating, but the rooms are very average -- very average. Rock hard beds combined with the traffic out front does not make for the best night of sleep and be sure to ask to be shown another if the first room is too awful. Few rooms in the hotel have windows and neither look over the riverside. WiFi throughout and all the rooms have air-con. However, the two we looked at had a musty smell to them. Similarly priced to the Cong Doan, we’d go with Cong Doan next time, solely due to its better location and improved views. The owner has a second property to the west of here which he said was "newer and much cleaner" -- we find that not difficult to believe. If you do stay here, be sure to try the Hu Tieu shops just around the corner to the west -- excellent!
