More on Vinh Long

The budget Loc Phuc Hotel is set in the northern reaches of town, within easy walking distance of the river, central market and night market and represents good value for Vinh Long.

Travelfish says:

Rooms are stacked above the reception and lobby which doubles as the TV viewing area for the friendly family who run the place. While the rooms have no river views, ours had a large glass window looking out to the south along with a small balcony (mostly accommodating the air-con unit)—the view was quite respectable for the price.

The room was well sized, with a comfortable bed, a slightly flimsy desk by the window, a fully stocked minibar and a LCD TV. There is free WiFi throughout (which worked fine for us) and all rooms are air-con. The hot water shower did the job and the entire offering was sparklingly clean.

The hotel faces onto a string of orchid shops and is flanked by a bird shop, so there is plenty going on, and the night market is spitting distance away. The friendly family who run it speak very limited English but they can rent you a bicycle and organise motorbike rental if you’re after your own wheels. In the unlikely event the hotel is full, the Khanh Quynh Hotel is just around the corner on Hung Dao Vuong and is a reasonable, though we think older, alternative.
