Ba Linh Homestay

Ba Linh Homestay

Hideaway by the canal

More on Vinh Long

Set on the south side of An Binh Island, Ba Linh Homestay has a collection of smart, brick finished rooms in a longhouse style set-up.

Travelfish says:

As with the nearby Phuong Thao Homestay (they are perhaps 100 metres apart), Ba Linh is not on the water, but rather on the off side of a dike lining a canal. This means there are no water views (though boat trips and other such activities are still available).

Rooms were simple but well–presented in a longhouse set-up, each with their own bathroom—a rarity among the An Binh homestays. The rooms are brick finished but absolutely devoid of decoration—a bit of a curious choice. When we arrived we couldn’t find any staff (nor guests) whatsoever, but the rooms were all open so we took a poke around.

As with Phuong Thao there is a large restaurant area and plenty of hammocks laying around, and we imagine with both of these places (as with most of the homestays) custom is irregular—deserted one day, then jammed the next when a group arrives.

Like Happy Family Homestay, these two are quite isolated, and without your own transport, you’ll feel a bit stranded—if you’d prefer to be able to walk into the village, then consider Nam Thanh Homestay. Of the two, we thought the rooms at Ba Linh were considerably better than those at Phuong Thao. Both are listed on most online booking agents.
