Modern budget hotel
We could still smell the fresh paint when we visited Trung Hau Hotel in February 2016.
Located in the northeast corner of town, Trung Hau is Con Dao’s most modern budget hotel on the island.
It’s also the only budget hotel we saw with a separate shower stall rather than just a single wetroom bathroom. The spacious, shiny and clean bathroom will surely please flashpackers, and so will the rooms which have glossy solid wood furniture including a handy desk/vanity, chairs, coffee table, wardrobe, flatscreen TV, minifridge, WiFi, air-con and fan. Rooms have tall ceilings and windows you can open for fresh air without compromising on security, as windows have safety bars. There was no bedside table, but you could easily move the coffee table over. We also noticed there was no top sheet. This detail aside, Trung Hau is a very comfortable modern pick, a decent alternative to Red Hotel. The family’s young daughter speaks some English
