Located two streets back from the beach, Hoang Oanh Hotel is a typical skinny local hotel, the simple rooms appointed with all the modern trimmings.

As of late 2016, the hotel was looking new and fresh—bright clean walls, unmarked floors and new fixtures. Rooms are equipped with a flatscreen TV, mini fridge, WiFi, air-con, fan, a wardrobe and a tile bathroom with hot water shower. Most rooms have windows and for now there’s no neighbouring buildings that would block the natural light coming in.

No English is spoken, and we think Thanh Tung Hotel has the edge. Hoang Oanh does have an extremely central location though; it’s steps to the beach, and walking distance to the city’s main roundabout and lively boulevard which the locals consider the heart of town.
