Cheap local guesthouse
We went to inspect Sydney Hotel and this hotel caught our eye.
Sydney Hotel is long in the tooth and for the same rate, you can get a newer, brighter and bigger room at Nguyen Khang Hotel just across the street.
Rooms here boast tall ceilings, a drinking water dispenser, air-con, fan, fridge, table, chairs and some rooms have a balcony. Bathrooms are clean tiled affairs with hot water. There’s not a stitch of English spoken and even intuitive dealings such as inquiring about the room and rate seemed to confuse. This place won’t break a backpacker budget – it’s a great deal for a private room. The cheap white and blue local bus also passes this way – there’s a stop right in front of the hotel. Bus #1 “Tien Lio – Mui Ne – Hon Rom” heads through the Mui Ne’s tourist strip via Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, travelling all the way to Hon Rom and Suoi Nuoc Beach.
