This is the star among your 'on-the-beach' options, which is to say, it's a good bit better than the only other place on the beach, which isn't saying much.
It's a large, aging, two-star place that is starting to suffer a bit from poor upkeep. The rooms feature hard, heavy furniture -- the kind that Southeast Asians associate with luxury (however odd that might seem to everyone else) but the rooms are nonetheless pleasant, adequate, and only slightly more expensive than what you'd be charged inland. There's also a tennis court on premises (that's how they earn the second star, we imagine). It's in ideal proximity to both the beach and the seafood restaurants to the north.
