Closing off old threads - opinions?

Posted by somtam2000 on 19/1/2014 at 18:42 admin

I'm thinking of making a change to the forum to automatically close off threads after they have not received a comment for a long period, perhaps one or two years. In the case of travel companions, after six months.

The threads will still be live on the site, people just won't be able to comment on them.

Thoughts either way?

Good idea, especially the first suggestion. When a very old thread gets reactivated it's nearly always the work of a spammer.

Agreed - good idea. I'd suggest one year rather than two. (And 6 months for Companions, as indicated)

Agreed. 1 year and 6 months sounds good.
