Looking for partners for trekking & festival in Chin State!

Posted by egorbaty2 on 10/2/2016 at 01:40

A friend and I are looking for 2 more people to join us on a trek to remote villages in Chin State, followed by the Chin National Day festival where tribal people from all over the state come to celebrate their heritage, performing traditional dances. We have found a local trekking agency that gets great reviews and offers this trip for half the price of competitors. The trip is 14 to 21 February, departing from and returning to Bagan.

What can you expect? According to the guide, "the most beautiful trekking in Myanmar, mountain valleys, remote villages, unique local culture and traditions, and incredibly friendly locals." You can see photos of the trek on the guide's Facebook page:

The cost will be approximately $500/person if we can get 2 more to join us (max 4 people, because a small group is a better experience than a large one!). This cost includes all bus tickets, permits, fees, a young local guide who speaks very good english and Chin as well. All overnight (guesthouse, village stay), porters (2), backup motorbike (for emergencies), all food and water on the trek (except in Mindat during the festival, but there are cheap eateries).

The other 2 trekkers (your new friends!) are American women in their 20s who have each spent several years living in and traveling around Asia.

We need to confirm a booking ASAP so please message me quickly if you're interested!
