ATMs in Myanmar

We've seen ATMs in every city we've been to, including Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Hsipaw, Inle, Golden Rock, Hpa-An, and Mawlamyine. We brought crisp US dollars, and we haven't used them yet. Everyone has accepted kyat if we said that's all we had. We even paid by credit card in some hotels.

Agree. It's good to see the kyat being used. We were not asked for US dollars except in some hotels in tourist areas. We carried pristine US dollars for back up and used them to pay for some flights. When we left we changed our leftover kyat for 'dirty' US dollars at the hotel. They were happy to get rid of them and found it hard to believe that anyone could use the money outside of the country (too dirty, LOL).
