Going to Cambodia in November and was planning on staying on Koh Rong or one of the other islands for a few nights. I was wondering, should I book the accomodations in advance or do you think it's possible to snag a beach front room/bungalow the day of arrival on the island? Anyone have any advice/experience with this?

I wasn't on Koh Rong but on all of my travels I never had an issue finding a place without pre booking. You might want to pre book if set on staying in a certain place otherwise if you are willing to settle for whatever then don't worry about it imo.
I'd say no need to book in November - you may not get beachfront, but you'll certainly get a hut. Peak season (Xmas new year) a reservation may be more prudent.

Also during the Khmer public holidays - lots of expats and Khmers leave Phnom Penh for an island trip at that time. 16-19 November will definitely be busier and it would be worth booking ahead.
