Hiring a tour guide for Angkor Wat?

Posted by Airamkw on 12/10/2019 at 18:50

Hello, does any one have any recommendations on where to look for a knowledgable english speaking guide for an off the beaten track tour of Angkor wat/ Siem Reap over a couple of days? I am new to travelfish and am not having any luck searching the forums. Willing to pay for a great experience.

thanks!

There are quite a few recommendations for specific guides on the message board, but I suspect those recommendations have a short shelf life.
Both times I visited Angkor Wat, I arranged my guide/driver through the guest house where I was staying. I liked that arrangement because it meant convenient pick up and drop off, and also because it make the most of the existing relationship between the guest house and the drivers they use. I imagine I may have paid an additional few dollars commission as a result, but it was definitely worth it for me for the peace of mind and the quality of service I received. Regards.
