Hello fellow fishers!
Me and boyfriend are travelling around Thai, Laos, Camb, Vietnam, Indonesia for 3.5 months...
My questions is, is £5500 enough between us EXCLUDING internal travel costs (except the odd overnight train in Vietnam).
It's roughly £51 per day between us... thoughts?

I followed a similar route last year in March-May on a €20-25 / day budget. I was staying in pretty budget places (anything between €2-10) but doing tons of activities: eating out, going on boat trips, doing courses etc. So with a slightly better budget you should also be able to afford better accommodation!
I've been told prices can vary drammatically if you're in a spot during peak season or an important event so keep that in mind!
I didn't go to Indonesia so I'm not sure about prices there but I suspect they are pretty similar.
Have a great time!
Thanks, so how much did you spend in total?
Also, I am going in low season!

I spent an extra 250 USD on 2 internal flights (a bit of a rip off! I'm sure you'll find better deals) and 200+ USD shopping in Hoi An (highly recommend it! Most amazing tailoring in a gorgeous little town). So in total about €2500 (i.e. £2200) excluding my return flight home.
I found this budget to be pretty relaxed.
Fire away if you need any other info I may not have thought of!
Cheers for the info!

it depends on your level of comfort and how you're getting around...
so you're 5500 works out at being very roughly 80-85 dollars a day U.S
Seems like a pretty decent amount if you ask me! the figure that gets batted around here is around 35$ (p/p) to live on a budget but comfortably while edging toward the $50 is getting into flashpacker territory.
If you think something is worth the money then go for it and live off noodles for the rest of the week!
I wouldn't be to worried though
