I'm really sorry I'm sure you get lots of similar messages asking for itineray ideas for travel in South East Asia, but I'd really appreciate your help! :)
Me and a group of friends are travelling to Johannesburg, South Africa on the 16th July 2011 to commence three weeks of charity work in schools. (We are trainee teachers)
Once we have completed three weeks (7th Aug) we are heading down to Cape Town for four days until flying out to Singapore on the 11th Aug to commence travelling.
All we have planned is that we will be flying out to Singapore on the 11th August and we are going to book a flight from Bangkok back home to Manchester for the 20th September (Just before we are back at uni)
So from the 11th Aug in Singapore we have no plan at all other than to ensure we are there to catch our flight home. We was thinking of travelling through Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
I think it works out as us having approx. 5 and a half weeks to travel. I know this is not alot and I would love to do more but being students we unfortunately have a deadline.
So, this is where you guys come in. Can you suggest a possible itineray using the information and timescale given. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we have no 'backpacking' experience at all. All I would say is I have been to Thailand before and loved it. I saw Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi but one of the girls has not.
We are between 23-26 years old and would like to experience the culture, sightseeing, etc
Also, at first we were going wild with plans and including Vietnam, Cambodia etc.. Having read some other posts this now sounds unlikely as i don't want to do too much. However, if anyone thinks it would be possible to get a taste of one of these places aswell then please let us know. Like I said, we're pretty much clueless at the moment!
Thanks in advance!!
Danipop :) xx
