Most un-organized trip so far! I am travelling for my first time with a friend in September, we are looking at arriving at Bankok for 19th September, visiting a friend over there, staying in Bangkok for 2/3 nights then over to Pattaya for 2.. However, we need to be on Koh Phangan for a conservation course from the 29th Septmber through to the 10th October. So.. from, say 24th/25th September, we have 5 days of travel first so wonder if anyone has advice as to where to have a quick visit during that time? We where thinking either one of the national parks, Ko Tao, or even Ko Samui? After the 10 day course we are planning on heading back up doing some Isands, then quck visits to Vietnam and Cambodia.. then maybe flying back down to KL and Singapore? Need to make our way to Bali by the 10th! (just unfurtunate on the dates of our friends being there and the course start dates) So we have to go down, up then down again haha.
Thank you in advance for any advice!

So you have 5 free days before your course on KPG (in rainy season). Just work your way down from Bangkok (Petchaburi, Cha Am, Khao Sam Roi Yod NP, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, etc.) many nice spots along the coast, just don't count on much sunshine that time of year.
