Married young couple six months in SE Asia, weather chasing..

We are planning an exciting adventure, selling all our belongings and getting onto a one way flight to Bangkok 1st of July.

We are aware monsoon season is just around the corner and would like to spend a few weeks having a beach honeymoon before the real backpacking begins. The question is... where?

The weather is pretty decent around SE Thailand throughout July, but were getting stuck on the itinerary from there. We have a budget of around 10k for 4 months onwards and would like to visit Cambodia, Vietnam, loas and Malaysia before heading onto Oz for work. We have been to Thailand for three weeks Christmas 2010 and after attempting 6/7 islands it was too rushed and we didn't get any chill time. This time we have no commitments to return to and time to kill.

Any advise on sights, budgets, plans etc would be greatly appreciated! It's going to be a bumpy ride but were ready for it!

Peace out

In addition, we'd like to add

Our first three weeks will be on Koh Samui, Koh Phanghan and Koh Tao (honeymoon time).
we also love the sound of home stays, slow boating down the Mekong and don't mind at all that our budget may be limited and willing to stay in lesser places to make the experience.

Any advise at all on, where and when to go, means of travel, activities and events.
Any advise or experiences is appreciated muchly.
