2 months Cambodia-Vietnam-Malaysia itinerary

Posted by Mikeys on 18/2/2016 at 17:04

Hi can somebody please suggest a good route for these countries. I will be flying into Bangkok on the 17th of March and have approximately 2 months to see the best of what these countries have to offer. Not too much partying more culture and food. No outward ticket booked as yet. Thanks in advance

From Bangkok you catch flight directly to Hanoi , Vietnam and spend about 14-16 days in here to visit from north to south of Vietnam with the itinery: Hanoi - Halong Bay - Hue - Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City with more USD$1.000 . In Hanoi, you can join walking tour or free tour with student's guide to visit popular places in there like Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda or eat famous Trang Tien ice-cream on Trang Tien street near by Hoan Kiem Lake. When comming Halong, you can not miss discover imposing caves and fresh seafoods by cruise, enjoy culture of Vietnam in Hue and getting measured up for a suit in charming Hoi An. Don'f forget visit unique floating market in Mekong Delta. Furthermore, from HCMC, you can catch bus to Phnom Penh.

Not much info to go on there. Two months Cambodia-Vietnam-Malaysia starting in mid-March. First off where are you flying in/out? Kuala Lumpur makes for a good hub with cheap direct Air Asia flights to Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, HCMC, Danang, Hanoi. Depending on your nationality probably no visa required for Malaysia and Cambodia is visa on arrival for $30USD. Vietnam visa can be pre-arranged by an online agent e.g. vietnamvisaprovider.com (Google for others). It's the cheapest way, but only if you are arriving by air. If arriving by land get a tourist visa in advance at a Vietnam consulate directly or via a travel agent. As for itinerary, you have plenty of time so I'd say just get in and take it a step at a time. Grab a recent guidebook and read it on the flight over.
